United Landmark is in the process of updating all of their propane facilities to be up to the NFPA 58 standards as of January 1, 2011. The code requires internal shut off valves in all bulk distribution tanks.

We are getting an early start with our tanks so that we make sure we are up to date when 2011 gets here. This process requires us to burn off every tank to lower the pressure of so that we can remove the old valves and replace them with the new ones. Every plant will require about a weeks worth of work to replace all equipment with new hoses, relief valves, and other necessary updates. This project will improve the safety and security of all our plants for many years to come.
